THE LEGEND AND THE PRO
We're referring to Shaw Industries, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., and Southwest Greens International. Each of them, a leader of their own accord, come together to make a powerful ace. Southwest Greens of Austin is a branch of Shaw Industries, the biggest carpet producer internationally and a wholly-owned branch of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., a top Fortune 500 Company. IT ALL BEGAN WITH GOLF
Southwest Greens began in 2003 to address the desire for well-designed and well-executed Synthetic Turf Installation. Championship caliber golf greens, tee boxes, and practice areas expanded the company and kept gaining star endorsements from Vijay Singh, Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sörenstam, Rickie Fowler, and Hale Irwin. With 50+ franchise locations worldwide and 40,000 projects and counting, Southwest Greens continues to develop the highest quality greens, installation expertise, and innovations. Our powerful reputation carried home golf amenities to the backyard with lawn and pet turf solutions. Intelligent businesses have purchased our turf and recognize how it impacts their bottom line while staying ecologically sound.
EXPERTS IN MANUFACTURING
The Shaw Turf division is home to the industry’s biggest and most advanced sports science laboratory for product progression and testing. The 13,000 square-foot Sports Science Laboratory consists of state-of-the-art testing equipment and a full-time staff putting together and testing engineered synthetic turf solutions for many applications and markets.
Synthetic turf products are developed and tested around athlete/surface and ball/surface interactions to guarantee the right combination of safety, durability, and performance are met. Southwest Greens also features over 18,000 square feet of on-site, outdoor field testing plots, so our synthetic green is not only tested rigorously in simulations, but real-world exposure. Each blade maintains a lifelike shine without fading in the sun, ensuring that our artificial turf products will never dry up and are always well-manicured, unlike real grass. Our environmentally-friendly products look, feel, and are just as resilient as authentic grass. Plus, Southwest Greens of Austin's signature collection of synthetic grass are lead-free and 100 percent recyclable!
EASE OF MAINTENANCE FOR LUXURY LIVING
Save time – never dispose of leftover lawn trimmings again! Simply keep the artificial grass surface clean with a sweeper or leaf blower. Maintain it on your own or trust us to periodically inspect infill levels. With over thirty heights and designs to pick from, Southwest Greens of Austin artificial turf solutions are meticulously designed to simulate the genuine look, feel, and performance of real grass. Southwest Greens of Austin’s products are durable, resist matting, do not deteriorate in the sun, and are resilient enough to handle heavy foot traffic. Spongy and natural yet remarkably durable, synthetic turf is excellent for severe climates and locations with heavy traffic. Always green and vibrant, our grass is made of a special polyethylene blend of long-bladed, grass fibers designed to last a lifetime.
KID-SAFE, PET-FRIENDLY
The nature of our products eliminates itching, sneezing, and stains that come with real grass. Our synthetic grass solutions remove the need to expose friends, family, and pets to damaging chemicals necessary to treat natural grass. Southwest Greens of Austin synthetic turf can also be designed for extra-soft, fall-safe ASTM-compliant landings.
Are you a pet owner? Our turf backing system is constructed with urethane technology allowing superior flow-through for drainage without the mud. Smells and spots of wilted grass will be no more. Artificial grass also keeps fleas and ticks away, giving you peace of mind while saving money.
THE GREEN ALTERNATIVE
Environmentally-friendly, Southwest Greens of Austin signature collection of products require less water, eliminate the need for fertilizers and pesticides, and are free of heavy metals. Plus, it’s the only synthetic grass that uses 100 percent recyclable materials! Despite the starting cost, homeowners, business owners, and municipal managers report long-term savings. Based on customers’ reports, most estimate a two to five-year return on their artificial grass investment. Installing synthetic grass solutions conserve millions of gallons of water each year and reduces pollution byproducts due to mowing equipment use.
